In this course, toddlers and parents will learn a repertoire of musical games designed to promote creativity and the toddler’s understanding of basic musical elements such as rhythm, pitch, timbre and dynamics. This course runs in eight-week sessions in the fall, winter, and spring. Fees: $160 per eight-week session. Pre-registration is required.

Instruction brings play-dance to the studio without removing its spontaneity. All classes develop coordination, posture, imagination and fundamental dance skills. Primary/Creative dance is ideal for introducing ballet concepts to eager 6 year-olds.

Our ballet program approaches the classic dance form with creativity and sensitivity, to refine the child’s natural ability within the context of ballet technique. Following the Royal Academy syllabus from Grade I through Advanced II, classes include free movement and character work, as well as pointe work for upper levels. Students are prepared for optional Royal Academy exams, where The School has earned an impressive record of excellence against international standards.

This fun class invites students to develop their personal style. Students will enjoy letting loose to the energizing rhythms of pop music as they broaden their technical vocabulary and explore a range of dynamics particular to contemporary jazz!

Merging “industry” Hip Hop with freestyling and elements of breakdancing, this invigorating class will develop coordination, stamina and self-confidence.

This eight-week course teaches children the basics of social dance. Students will learn waltz, tango, cha-cha, foxtrot and samba.

CCDT offers a full-time, post-secondary, Limón-based professional training program for emerging dance artists. If you are a skilled performer with a passion and commitment to dance, and are looking for further technique training, performance opportunities, outreach teaching opportunities and mentorships with professional artists, this is the program for you.
